Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how UnLapse collects, uses, and protects your information. We collect only what is necessary to provide the App’s features and do not sell your personal data.
• Account information (such as email address)
• Journal entries and written reflections
• Audio recordings created using the microphone (such as personal voice reminders)
• Goals, quit reasons, and streak data
• App preferences and settings
• Messages sent to the AI coaching feature
• App usage data
• Device and performance data
• Crash and diagnostic information
We use your information to:
• Provide and improve App functionality
• Personalize your experience, including AI coaching responses
• Maintain app security and stability
• Communicate important updates
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
UnLapse includes an AI coaching feature (“Casper”) that provides personalized guidance based on your usage data.
To generate responses, the following data is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) in real time:
• Your first name
• Current streak length
• Longest streak length
• Your stated reason for quitting
• Your current goal
This data is transmitted securely and is used solely to generate coaching responses within the App. Conversation history is not stored on our servers.
OpenAI’s data handling is subject to their own privacy policy and usage policies. AI coaching responses are generated by artificial intelligence and do not constitute professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
When you use the voice recording feature, UnLapse accesses your device microphone to let you record a personal message about your reason for quitting.
These recordings are stored locally on your device and within your account data in our database. They are used solely to allow you to play back your own message during moments of urge.
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud) with industry standard protections including encryption in transit and at rest.
While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
UnLapse uses the following third party services to operate the App:
• Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and analytics
• OpenAI for AI coaching responses
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• Apple and Google for payment processing
Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple and Google and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
You can:
• Access and update your information within the App
• Delete content within the App
• Request account deletion by contacting unlapseapp@gmail.com
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the App’s features or as required by law.
If you request account deletion, your data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe.
UnLapse is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete their information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
